Internship program for international students

We had international students from Myanmar, Vietnam, Cameroon and China experience working in pearl processing and sales, a local industry in Kobe, at our company as part of the NPO Oneself's internship program "Try-it Week for International Students."
The four-day program included lectures on general pearl knowledge, pearl processing, model photography and sales work. They learned about the pearl industry step by step.

In the lecture on pearls, the students learned everything from history and cultivation to processing, sales and how to look at them, and then they had the opportunity to touch actual pearl products in the showroom.
In pearl processing, they glued pearls and made necklaces. They were confused at first, but soon got the hang of it and finished their products.
For the model shoot, each student chose their favorite pearl jewelry in the showroom and was photographed outdoors in their favorite coordination.
For sales, they memorized the products on display and served customers at the storefront at the event.

We hope that this internship program will pique your interest in Japanese pearl industry.
